The Masked Reader 1st April 2021

To mark the end of term and to further emphasise the importance of reading members of staff dressed up as the ‘Masked Reader’ and read a snippet of a well- known story to the children. These videos were shared virtually to all classes in school. The children had a lot of fun trying to name the teacher as well as name the title and author of the story read.

Census Day March 21st 2021

As a school we learnt about what the census is, why it's so important to complete and what happens with the information. Each class learnt about the history of the census and compared information found from previous Census'. We found it really interesting as most of the children in our school were not born when the last Census was completed! Each class gathered information about the languages spoken in our school and we found out that there are 33 different languages spoken!

World Book Day 4th March 2021

This year World Book Day was very different but we still had fun celebrating all things reading. As it fell under a time when the whole country was in Lockdown, some children were working remotely whilst others were able to join us in school. In order that everyone could join in with the celebration equally we all wore our pyjamas. A lot of stories were shared on line. We had a Reading Assembly which was shared on line and our Reading Ambassadors shared their book reviews. Newly published books were also distributed for the next month. We all had a great time listening to authors and sharing new stories.
