 Nursery

Mrs Buckles

My name is Mrs Buckles but some of you may know me as Miss Barber as last year I got married. I am from Stoke-on-Trent but I went to university in Nottingham. My degree was in Primary Education, specialising in the Early Years as this is what I am passionate about.  I have taught at Stoke Minster for 7 years. I taught in Reception for 6 years and then last year I moved to Nursery which is where I have stayed as I loved introducing children to learning with us here at Stoke Minster. I am also the PSHE lead and I lead personal development and welfare with SMSC. It is such a pleasure to lead such an important subject in our school giving children the skills they need to stay safe, healthy and successful in life. In my spare time I do ballet dancing and take part in shows. I have danced since I was little and I have loved going back to my adult ballet classes. I also enjoy pilates, cooking and of course spending time with my family.

Reception

Reception C - Miss Cullen

Hello everyone! I am Miss Cullum and it is my absolute pleasure to be one of the Reception teachers at Stoke Minster CE Primary Academy, and Early Years, Early Reading and Phonics lead. I am in my eighteenth year teaching after graduating from Manchester Metropolitan University with a first-class BA (hons) in Primary Education, specialising in English and Early Years. Throughout my time teaching I have had experiencing teaching all year groups from Nursery right the way up to Year six. However, my real passion lies in early years and I especially enjoy teaching Reception. I have had nine wonderful years teaching Reception at Stoke Minster and hope for many more! I was born and raised in a little village just outside of Uttoxeter, but now live with my partner, two children, Eva and Asher, and my black Sprocker spaniel Archer in Biddulph. I love days out with my family and going on holiday, especially to Greece. I really love eating Greek food and can be often found in the Greek bakery/café in Newcastle! My favourite book is a relatively new one, which my Mum, my inspiration, gave me as a gift and is ‘A Little Bit of Faith’ by Katie Piper. It gives hopeful affirmations for every day of the year and I like to read it each morning when I wake up.

Reception W - Mrs White

Hello!  I’m Mrs White, one of the Reception teachers and I’m also History and Geography lead.  I have taught in various schools in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire, initially in high schools before moving into Early Years, which is my passion.  I live locally, coming back to my roots after moving to university in Sheffield and living and working in France.  I completed my PGCE at Keele.  In my spare time, I enjoy playing hockey for North Staffs with my eldest daughter.  Reading my Kindle helps me to relax and unwind after a busy day at school.
